    I've gone to a meeting on bringing dog parks to your area. A lot of the funding for these parks can come from grants provided by pet food or pet supplies companies. As a non-profit business, the Harrisonburg Parks and Recreation should be able to acquire some of the opportunities for funding. One of the requirements is the companies that supply the funding and equipment get to post their logo and information on a few things. Many areas have used these funding opportunities and it's provided them with great dog parks.

    Yes to a dog park in Harrisonburg!!! Been trying to get one at Massanutten but it's been put on the back burner apparently. However, you can let dogs run off leash in the park at Massanutten (just FYI).

We are group of neighbors/citizens interested in creating an off leash dog park! We think Harrisonburg is due for a dog park for a number of reasons so we decided to work together to make it happen. We want you to be involved too, so please contact us if you want to help or be involved, even in a small way. We have talked with the city, and many others around town. All we need to do is show that there is a lot of support for this and that you would use it if we built one. After that we can really get things moving! So sign the petition, write us an email, and tell your friends because we can make this happen if we get enough people behind it!
